What does facade cleaning cost in 2026?

Facade cleaning in 2026 costs on average € 8 to € 18 per m². For the front facade of a terraced house (± 45 m²) that means € 350 to € 800 per visit. The method explains much of that spread: soft washing against green algae sits at the bottom of the range, steam cleaning of heavy soot at the top.

Three factors weigh in on top of that. Accessibility: above 2 storeys scaffolding or a lift is needed, and that hire comes on top of the per-m² rate. The facade's condition: deeply ingrained grime or paint layers call for blasting, at € 15 to € 35 per m². And the region: Randstad rates run 10-20% higher than in the north and east.

Once the scaffolding is up, that is the moment to press on. An impregnation layer (€ 8-15 per m²) keeps the clean facade clean for years longer, and worn joints can be repointed in the same scaffold build for € 40 to € 75 per m². A complete facade renovation — cleaning, repointing and impregnation — thus comes to € 40 to € 90 per m².
